About Us

We began performing together as a trio in 2017, after a chance performance opportunity. 
Our vocal blend, akin to Parton, Harris, and Ronstadt, is the core of the ensemble
and what started as three classically-trained voices with guitar has expanded to include multiple instruments and additional players - friends of the hive who buzz in
and out as their schedules allow.  

Our cover set list includes music from all genres, reimagined for our unique sound,
and often focusing on women's issues, perspectives, and voices. 
A friend has said, "The Beehive Band is what would happen if
Alanis Morisette and John Denver had triplets."  An apt description! 
We also have a small list of original works by Amy, that center on
stories of women's mid-life and love, and rely heavily on trio harmonies.

Brenda Stursma, Emily Wadhams, and Amy Luckenbill are the core members.
You can find out more about us in the Bios tab.  Independent of the band,
and true to our femme-focus, we fill many roles outside of the hive:
business owners, corporate directors, music therapist, doctor, mother,
wife, lover, performer, confidant, and friend. 

We play regularly at wineries, bars, coffee houses, churches, festivals,
music in the park, and political events.
